Hi,
my customer wants to run the notepad-application (he isn't
familiar with the vi). Under UNIX 3.2 and with the old
X-Environment, this program was called dxnotepad. That's fine
and it works with the firewall under UNIX 3.2 ! This version
of the notepad seems to use static libraries.
Under UNIX 4.0, the delivered version of the dxnotepad (it
uses shared libraries) runs under the CDE (Common
Desktop Environment), only. Unfortunatly, the firewall uses the
old X-environment, where the dxnotepad can't be started (an
error message occurs).
I do know, that the new version of the notepad is called
dtpad, delivered with UNIX 4.0. When I start dtpad on the
firewall, the window manager hangs and we have to switch
off the machine :-(
My customer is complaining about it. He doesn't want to
use the vi.
