1790.0. "NT/MS-Exchange as mailgate ?" by TLAV01::RUDI () Tue Feb 11 1997 22:08

    With our push of MS-Exchange the mailgate becomes a
    Alpha/NT4.0/MS-exchange box.

    Looking at note 1176 I'm OK with 1. mailhub, 2. Primary name server.
    How about 3. repository logfiles from gatekeeper (firewall/unix)

    Any idea's, anyone already tried ?

As far as I know you cannot (currently) have an NT box receiving syslog from a
UNIX box.

I've (mostly) written a syslog daemon for Windows NT: it even runs as a service.
With a bit of tarting up (splitting incoming data into the appropriate log
files), it should work fine. If you're desperate...

I had a client who wanted to be able to accept syslog files from
their UNIX firewall onto a Windows system. I found a shareware
package that does just that. Check out www.shareware.com and look
for syslog.
