Don't eaven try ... I did 

Yes I know not supported

I also try following last nigt

DU 3.2C
AFW 2.0

-> update to DU 4.0  -> DU 4.0A
Update AFW 2.1

Core dump on boot xmd (motif stuff) is missing 
new /sbin/rc3.d/s??xmd point to file that does not excist

Had to go backups ... will try again 27.2. I  thing I will do new 4.0a + 2.1
installation and forget the upgrade.

	You're absolutely right that V4.0B is a no-no. V4.0A is the latest version of DU that you can use today. The best thing to do is to install V4.0A and V2.1. As for the upgrade, I think there was a note somewhere - it may have been in the Digital UNIX notesfile - about a problem with the upgrade to V4.0... Try the AltaVista notes search to see if you can find it? T
