1775.0. "reply to x.400 encapsulated address" by NCMAIL::DESENA () Wed Feb 05 1997 08:55
My customer has received a message from an external user through their
firewall which has an x.400 style smtp address from their service
provider. The message comes through the firewall fine and is delivered
to the end user. When they reply to that address they get a "remote
protocol error" Has anyone ever seen this before or know how I can
correct it?
Following is the complete message error log. Thank you for any help
you can provide.

| It's all down to whether or not you permit / in the mail address. On
AFWU you have to modify the spec for smtpxd to make it accept these
addresses - it's descirbed somewhere in here - search (on AltaVista!)
for allow_slash.
