Hello ? I found that lots of notes file regarding mail but most of them are gatekeeper's mail configuration not mailgate. Now I'm experiencing that I cannot configure for mailgate to relay to gatekeeper system. The mailgate is a bind client of gatekeeper, external name server and have no problem with resolving addresses. In mailsetup, I configured gatekeeper as general relay. But when I try to send mail with verification, mailgate try to connect to destination directly not gatekeeper of the firewall. I reconfigured mail several times but no success. If I do the same work (mailsetup) in another host, it works fine. The mail server is Digital UNIX v3.2D and used as mail server before installing firewall. I want to reconfigure it to pass mail message to gatekeeper. If I setup the mailgate clean, what files can I delete ? What files is related to the general relay of mail ? Hope your answer . Best regards, Sunjoo Ha.

1765.1 | general relay in mailsetup ? | DEKVC::SUNJOOHA | SUN-JOO HA @DEK | Tue Feb 11 1997 21:57 | 18 |
Hi!, anyone who can give me a hand! Still I'm in trouble. From mail server machine, the mailsetup works different from other machine. From other machine, setting general relay in mailsetup, it finds DNS name server automatically for general relay for cuk.ac.kr domain. But for mailserver that has problem, it finds ns.kren.nm.kr as general relay for ac.kr. I answered the firewall system (cmckeeper.cuk.ac.kr) as general relay. But when I send mail by Mail -v [email protected], it tries to connect gatekeeper.digital.co.kr which is external node. I expected to connect cmckeeper.cuk.ac.kr. Is it smtp bug in Digital UNIX v3.2D ? What does the mail server do when it suggest general relay for the domain ? Hope any suggestion please. Best regards, Sunjoo Ha. | |||||

Hello ? Still no answer. I solved my probem. I think it's smtp bug in digital unix v3.2d. I upgraded to v4.0a and all settled down. SJHa. |
