Can anyone verify if the NT based IP ports that apply for file sharing are ports 137, 138, and 139? Thanks, Arjo | |||||

From the Winnt35\System32\Drivers\Etc\Services file: 137 is nbname 138 is nbdatabram 139 is nbsession So, you'd need these for file services, but they do support other MS network services. This file also says that 512/tcp is exec and doesn't mention 721-731 IANA maintains well-known port info at http://www.isi.edu/div7/iana/assignments.html - choose General Assignments, then port-numbers in that directory. This doesn't mean that MS isn't using these ports, but they're not registering them (the port-number file does have explanations & contacts for the registered ports) |
