| I think I confused you all. I don't want to change partition sizes. That's the
whole point. However, I need to write a bootblock on the disk. I think I could
have managed this if the disk had the standard label, but it doesn't.
Anyway, thanks to the Atlanta CSC, who responded on the Digital UNIX notesfile,
I have now managed to do what I want.
For the full details of building a bootable copy of the root partition on a
second disk, then see the appropriate page (that hasn't been written yet!) on
the firewall hints and tips Web site on sector.gmt.dec.com. (It'll be written
shortly, honest!)
However, what you have to do is to store the disklabel on another disk, and then
use -R to restore it, specifying that you want an advfs bootblock when you do
it. It works - I tried it here.
