I am experimenting with connecting a speech recognizer to ProEngineer. 
Building a custom vocabulary is easy. It works like spoken map keys.  

for example speaking "shade" will execute {view, cosemetic, shade, display}.
The users eyes can remain focused on the screen while speech does menu 
navigation.

I know very little about using ProE.  I am looking for suggestions on the
kinds
of functions that would benefit the most from an added speech input channel.

I would also appreciate any help however small in putting together a small
demo or script I can use in selling this idea.

    I assume you are referring to DSRS.  Correct?

    I can help you here as I have recently installed DSRS on my
    workstation but haven't had the time to figure out how to create the
    custom vocabulary.  I would think something like this could be a big
    time saver as Pro/E is very mouse click intensive.

    The amount of time I will be able to dedicate will be limited however.
    But I would be willing to help out as much as I can.

    By the way, my job here in Colorado Springs is similar to that of a PTC
    application engineer.  I support 16 seats of Pro/E here in CXO as well
    as 5 seats in SHR.
