60.0. "New MHH member shatter's the Record" by SUBPAC::MATTSON () Mon Apr 28 1997 13:07

The MHH had their opening Tournament of the season this past Friday
at Webster Lake. It was a very dismal day for most of us. But one of our
newest members, Bob Mercier, took the first place honors with close to
13 lbs !!!! What's amazing is he only caught 3 Bass !!! One was a
Largemouth pushing close to 7 1/2 LBS, another a Smallmouth over 4 lbs, and
the 3rd, If I remeber correctly, just a keeper (although it looked like a
bait fish compared to the other two monsters) !!!

Bob has blown away our club record for both the biggest Largemouth
(was about 6.3 lbs) and Smallmouth (was about 3.1 lbs) !!! Not to bad for
a reputed "Trout Fisherman" !!!! Bob is a non boater, and was riding with
the infamous "Joe Andries". Joe took 2nd place Friday as well.

OK, lets try this again. My last note was hung in limbo.
Congrats on the TWO nice fish, sounds like a day to remember.
I know what you mean about dismal. I had a club tournament
on Saturday. Only 5 of 20 guys weighed in fish. 4 of the
5 had only 1 fish each. The winner had his 5, plus he was
culling by noon. Alls I can say is bring on May, where
even the Gaffer can catch fish :*)

Well, how about a report from last Friday's tournament
on Bare Hill Pond. Just because I can't take all those
Fridays off any more, doesn't mean we're not interested.
