Questions:

We have a decserver 900 which has ppp capability. Our problem is that we
can't use it for ppp connections for Direct connections (not going thru
modems) with most tcp/ip software.
The program dialers insist that a modem is there. They won't send the initial
<cr> to wake up the terminal server line. Trumpet's dialer does work but
trumpet will not work correctly with Microsoft Exchange. I have also tried MS
WIN 95 networking but t
he 'dialer' has to dial it won't connect directly. We have users who are yet
to be networked but who have their old direct connections thru terminal
servers. Can you recommend some software (dialer) that will work for this
problem?
I have communicated extensively with CISCO on this (we use Cisco TCP/IP for
Windows) for over a year but it does NOT work as of yet. It is a 'simpler'
connection than with the modems. The terminal server is setup correctly
because it will work with Trum
pet and it does work on MACS with ppp.

One 'solution' was to buy modems for the decserver and users, what a waste!
If you don't have the answer, could you point me in the right direction?

Thanks, Beth Robinson
