Questions:
Operating Sys: OpenVMS on Alpha
OS Version: 6.2
Option/Product: Netscape Navigator Gold
Version: 3.0b5
Problem Statement:
Netscape Navigator 3.0 with Java support for OpenVMS is in Beta for
the Digital Internet Product suite.
I have followed the instructions on the installation of Netscape
Navigator 3.0 with Java support on OpenVMS Alpha, but I receive an
error when loading "JAVA_30." required by Java.
I have the "JAVA_30." in the [.NETSCAPE] subdirectory below sys$login
as well as defining a NETSCAPE_CLASSPATH logical as
DKA0:[USER.DLOGUE.NETSCAPE].
The error I receive from Netscape is as follows:
Unable to start a java applet: Can't find "java_30" in your
NETSCAPE_CLASSPATH or CLASSPATH. Read the release notes and install
"java_30" properly before restarting.
Current value is:
/DKA0/USER/DLOGUE/NETSCAPE/JAVA_30
The machine is a stand-alone machine and the network is not being used.
Thank you for your reply
