Questions:
I have a VAXstation 3100 workstation. It was running VMS 5.2.
I upgraded it to 5.5-2. My VMS license won't work now.
When I do a $show license/charge it claims the box is a
VAXserver 3100. This does not permit a type D (Workstation)
license which is what I have.
Its the same if I do f$getsyi("HW_NAME"), it says
its a VAXserver 3100 . A VAXstation 3100 running 5.2 says its
a VAXstation 3100.
What is the difference between the two? Why does it think it
is a VAXserver? I don't want it to be a server, just a
workstation.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

1787.1 | Check Workstation Keyboard and Graphics Controller | XDELTA::HOFFMAN | Steve, OpenVMS Engineering | Tue Apr 29 1997 14:18 | 5 |
|
You have apparently unplugged the keyboard and/or the video graphics
controller. These devices are required on all VAXstation 3100 series
systems -- if these devices are not found, the system is considered a
VAXserver.
