My NTP (Network Time Protocol for TCP/IP) configuration is not working. I have 2 Alpha servers running VMS 6.2 and VMS 7.0. Both machines have TCP/IP (UCX) version 4.0 . A VMS 7.0 machine has DECnet V and its DTS is active. I am not sure DTS and NTP can run together. A VMS 6.2 machine has DECnet IV. I want to set the VMS 7.0 machine as a time server and the VMS 6.2 machine as a time client. Can you send me a configuration file of NTP - ucx$ntp.conf ? Do I have to set any logical names ? This time synchronization is very important to me . Please reply as soon as possible. PS. I asked Digital(Thailand) about this problem. They cannot answer me. Supit Angkititrakul

DECdtss and NTP are completely seperate protocols, and each node can use one -- but not both -- of the protocols to receive time from a time provider node. In other words, you will need to choose to use DIGITAL TCP/IP Services (UCX) NTP protocol, or to use the DECnet-Plus DECdtss protocol. |
