The manual says I can turn the compression on using software. How do I do it in OpenVMS?

1761.1 | No Generic SCSI Compression Interface... | XDELTA::HOFFMAN | Steve, OpenVMS Engineering | Mon Apr 28 1997 15:42 | 11 |
See /MEDIA_FORMAT=COMPACTION and similar command qualifiers for BACKUP and MOUNT for the OpenVMS interface to compaction. If these commands do not operate with your drive, you will want to enable compression by default via jumper or other drive setting, or via explicit SCSI commands to the DAT drive via the GKDRIVER generic SCSI interface -- OpenVMS knows how to enable compression on specific DAT drives, but does not know of a generic method to enable it on all drives that support compression. |
