A VMS 5.4-2 system says I need to apply the patch... An OpenVMS V1.5-1H1 says I need the patch... Is this correct or does this show10k.dcl proceedure not work???

1743.1 | Day-One OpenVMS Limit | XDELTA::HOFFMAN | Steve, OpenVMS Engineering | Mon Apr 28 1997 12:24 | 22 |
The SHOW10K procedure is working as intended -- it checks for the existance of the 9,999 day delta-time limit, which is a delta-time format limit present in all OpenVMS releases prior to V7.1. In other words, the SHOW10K procedure is correctly noting that the version of OpenVMS it was run on does have the 9,999 day delta-time limit. The SHOW10K command procedure does not attempt to include information on the availability of a patch for a particular OpenVMS version. Please see the Questions and Answers document, and the Applications Programmer and System Managers information -- this information is available at http://www.openvms.digital.com. Note: An unsuccessful SHOW10K test does _not_ indicate that the system _will_ have any problems with the limit, nor does a successful test indicate that a system will _not_ have problems with the 10,000 day delta-time limit -- see the Questions and Answers and other associated documentation for details. |
