One reaches a state where VMSMAIL_PROFILE.DATA is believed quiescent, and relocates the file via COPY or BACKUP, leaving the existing file in place. One then sets up a logical name VMSMAIL_PROFILE in executive mode in the system logical name table in SYS$STARTUP:SYLOGICALS.COM, and reboots. (The reboot is not strictly necessary, but it means that you are assured that all users are using the file from the new location. If you choose not to reboot, you will need to define the logical name "live", in addition to the edit to SYLOGICALS.COM.) |
