Questions:

Hi Wiz,

I have two questions.

a) My AXP 2000-300 crashes with any attempt to boot the VMS 7.1 CD.

The crash message happens after the VMS startup welcome message.

CODE=000001CC: INVEXCEPTN, Exception while above ASTDEL
No current process defined in CPU database.

b) This machine has ISDN and V.34 modem installed internally. I will be spending a large amount of time in VMS in the coming months (as opposed to NT) and would like to be able to connect to the net from VMS. Is this possible ?

Any useful help would be appreciated.

cheers

Please confirm the PALcode version is correct for OpenVMS Alpha V7.1,
  and upgrade it if necessary.

Yes. You and your Internet Service Provider (ISP) will need to
work out both a compatible set of communications protocols, and
a compatible set of communications hardware. (And you will need
to locate host drivers for the ISDN and V.34 devices, if you do
  not already have these.)
