Clark Email Address: [email protected] CPU Architecture: VAX Version: v 6.2 Questions: We are trying to set up Gnu make to run on the VAX and encountered many errors in doing so. The last one was a link error indicating conflicting psect attributes which we resolved. But the executable still gaves the same error ( one or more of the following objects in the runtime library have been improperly declared in your program). Any idea on how to resolve this?? Thanks

You are aware that there are a number of make and unix-flavored tools available for OpenVMS, and that there are supported versions of these tools in POSIX, in the DIGITAL MMS product, on the DIGITAL Freeware CD-ROM, and various make flavors from various other sources? (Specifically, see GMAKE, IMAKE, MMK, and other tools present on the Freeware CD-ROM.) For other pointers to these and other tools, please see the OpenVMS Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) monthly posting. For assistance in porting this code, please contact folks that have already ported this tool via comp.os.vms or other similar mechanism -- there is not enough information here to even begin to diagnose the problem you are encountering. (If you are running the GMAKE version on the Freeware CD-ROM, we will need additional information on the particular sequence used and problem seen...) |
