Questions:

I want to wide area cluster from Southern California to Boulder, Co
using two Alpha Server 2100's in Southern California and two in Boulder,
Co.

I also want wide area disk shadowing using DEC's storage work solutions
including RAID.

How do I do it?

Can we wide area disk shadow non-dec disks/raid?

Thanks,

Jonathan

VMScluster software supports the configurations that are defined in
the VMScluster Software Product Description (SPD).

The distance between Boulder CO and Southern CA exceeds the maximum
supported distance for a single VMScluster. (The current supported
maximum node seperation is 150 miles, little more than the typical
   commuting distance in Southern California.)

It does not, however, exceed the maximum distance for a bridged or
point-to-point connection for protocols such as DECnet and IP.

Products such as DEC RTR and the distributed transaction manager can
be used to keep remote databases in synchronization, and to recover
from problems such as system failures and failed communications links.

Configuring a VMScluster and performing volume shadowing over the
typical (relatively low-speed) point-to-point link will not likely
   have acceptable performance characteristics.
