Is there a detailed checklist? What utilities are useful in this transition, now? Also, is there information readily available via the web for the 5-5-x to 6.x upgrade? Thanks.

:I realize that this question may be a bit dated, but is there a detailed :white paper generally available on the issues of porting applications from :OpenVMS VAX to OpenVMS Alpha. Is there a detailed checklist? What utilities :are useful in this transition, now? : :Also, is there information readily available via the web for the 5-5-x to :6.x upgrade? Both topics are covered in detail in the OpenVMS manual set -- there are manuals on porting applications, on system management differences, and on porting Macro32 code, as well as detailed manuals on the OpenVMS installation and upgrade process. Information on the various OpenVMS upgrade paths available is covered in the OpenVMS Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) posting, available at DIGITAL's web site. |
