Questions:
I have a VAX 4600 with three pair of volume shadowed DSSI disks. They are split over two I/O buses.
The problem is that these volume shadow sets are being dismounted once every two or three weeks.
Analysis from DEC Health Check monitoring utility shows nothing other than that the I/O rate was higher
than recommended. But, we have been puzzled because if the I/O was high enough to choke the disks
and dismounts them, why does it happen so periodically (once every 2 or 3 weeks) ? And it is very strange
that it happens only at about 11.30pm at night. Volume Shadowing was supposed to provide an added
security in terms of redundancy and data protection.
Has DEC ever encountered at other sites where Volume Shadowing is showing similar behaviour ?
