Questions:

I have several PC's that connect via Telnet to the Vax, I want
to be able to print from a Vax application to a locally attached
printer on lpt1:. I have been able to accomplish this with
WordPerfect for VMS using what they call pass-thru printing.
I tell Wordperfect to send data to "Pass-Thru" rather than "System Queue".
Now I have other programs that do not work. Is this "Pass-Thru" something unique
to WordPerfect?? Can I set up a queue on the VAX that would redirect
output back to the PC's printer??

Any light that you could shed on this problem would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks

This does not appear to be an OpenVMS question, it appears to be a PC
question -- specifically, you will need to determine the availability
of needed software for the PC.

You will need a PC package that implements LPR/LPD or similar, and
`serves' the printer to the network. LPR/LPD is available under NT.
Digital TCP/IP Services (UCX) can then `target' a queue for the printer.

WordPerfect has its own printing software, as for its capabilities,
and pitfalls, you will need to contact WordPerfect support.

Alternatively, move the printers to LAT devices near the PCs.
