 Hello!

Inherited a VAX with a LAT service pointing to a
target node of LIC_MTS. How do I find out what that
target node points to? I cannot $set Host to it, and
I don't see it in DSVCONFIG. I am sure it is a DECserver,
but how do I really know?

Thanks for your input in advance.

Use the NCP command CONNECT to connect to the node.

As for locating the LAT device, check with the network support folks.
If you cannot locate the printer and `back-track' the LAT device,
and you do not know the location of the LAT device, then you may
(will?) have to use bridge adjacencies to perform a `binary search'
of the LAN segments in your network.

You may be able to locate the device based on users logged in via
the device. Look for LT devices with a matching TT_ACCPORNAM value.

(Most LAT devices do not support DECnet protocols, though many do
confusingly rely on the MOP download to download the necessary
program image(s). Once downloaded, the devices often do not use
   nor implement DECnet.)
