Questions:
I have a customer who has to run version 6.1 of VMS on an
Alphaserver 1000 4/266. I found out that the 1000A's could
not run an older version of VMS because of the PCI bridge.
I was told that the 1000's should be O.K. but might require
an older firmware version for 6.1. My customer is trying to
load 6.1 but is unsuccessful. We have not tried different
firmware yet. Is there a firmware version that we must
install?

The AlphaServer 1000 series requires at least V6.1-1H2.
The AlphaServer 1000A series requires at least V6.2-1H2.
