Using DCPS to support Appletalk printers.

With Pathworks for Macintosh services on OpenVMS it is
possible to "hide" a printer on the Appletalk network
using the "/HIDDEN" qualifier when defining the print
service. This forces all print request through the
OpenVMS print queue; sometimes a good thing since the
OpenVMS queue lets you manage the printer status and
forms more effectively.

Is it possible to do the same thing using DCPS? There
is no problem establishing queues to the Appletalk-
connected printers, and then directing Pathworks/MAC to
use those queues, but the printer remains visible on the
Appletalk network under it's own name, and can be accessed
without going throough the OpenVMS queue (which is really
annoying when you have special paper in the printer).

Thnx.

This sounds like the printer is advertising itself -- a service --
   to the network.

DCPS "merely" attaches and passes jobs to the printer, it does not
induce nor discourage the printer from "advertising " itself to the
   network.
