If you need BOOTP and cannot stop the node from (re)broadcasting
the request, you may want to consider inserting a bridge or brouter,
and enabling filtering from this source address. Alternatively,
you might want to downline load something that will keep that
node "occupied" for a while.
(The best solution is to locate the node and disable the node -- one
may be able to gather some details the DECnet CONFIGURATURE module,
as this tool listens to SYSID messages sent out periodically by the
Ethernet controllers on most Digital platforms. Bridges and brouters
can also be used to locate the segment with the offending node. Etc.)
