489.0. "ODBC, C++, and Access" by SWAM1::POIANI_MI () Thu Mar 27 1997 15:54

    I recently installed Vis C++ 4.0a on an Alpa NT 4.0 system. I ran into
    the same problems with installing ODBC as many previously before me in
    this conference. I seem to be the only one who needs the functionality,
    as others were happy with the fact they could use C++ without it.

    My customer has tried many times to load all unsuccessfully. They had
    plenty of Disk and tried different ways to install. Has anyone gotten
    it to load successfully and how?

    part 2. My customer has written an application that he would like to
    call the ODBC driver to access an Access database. Can this be done
    with the ODBC driver that comes with Vis C++? I am hearing about a Jet
    driver of some kind that I may or may not need. Basically my customer
    developed an access database on an Intel box and has copied the .mdb
    file over to the Alpha. He wants to use Vis C++ to store and retrieve
    data into the copied .mdb database file. Can the existing ODBC driver
    (that doesn't load) do this? OK if I get it loaded can it do it?

    hi pat,

    RAID is the bug tracking tool used by Microsoft. the previous note is
    telling you that the problem has been noted and recorded. The number
    is the number assigned to this bug.
