So I just put up netnotes on my NT box and the only things that I will want to do but haven't figured out are how to make it so replies are not allowed. We have a conference where the first 100 notes are only writable by moderators (of which I am one) and we don't want people asking questions in those notes. A dir on the title with repl and allow doesn't show anything and this notes conference isn't indexed by comet from all that I can tell. thx

I just started using Netnotes, so this is just guessing on my part, but on DEC Notes, you can set individual topics to be read-only. I saw the UI in Netnotes that allows you to set that bit. I'm not sure if the Netnotes server supports this functionality, but you could try. Basically, create a stub for all the reserved notes you wish (typically, topic is "Reserverd"), then set them to read-only. Moderators can easily by-pass this. jeb | |||||

ahh, yes, you are correct. It is confusing because we make sure we set a specific note to no replies allowed even when putting in a new reply to a read only topic. thanks... |
