Speaking of SEEN maps:
I was told that if you keep "use remote notebook" checked, your
SEEN maps will be synchronized between NetNotes and VMS notebooks.
I didn't know this until after I'd been using NetNotes for awhile,
so I never did it.
What happens if I do it now? My VMS SEEN map is horribly out of
date, and would really screw up my NetNotes map if that's the way
NetNotes will synchronize. I mean, I could go into VMS and do a
SET SEEN/BEFORE=TODAY in every conference first if I had to.
But if it synchronizes from NetNotes TO VMS I'll be all set.
Thanks for any info.

Not exactly. When you "use remote notebook", you use the remote
notebook. (That's why the option is called "use remote notebook",
acutally.) Since you're always updating the VMS copy, use of notes
between the PC and native VMS remains in synch because they both
operate off of the same notebook file. (This is how I've got
NetNotes configured for when I occasionally use it.) It's not a
question of keeping two SEEN maps synched; there's only one SEEN map
in use.
When you use the VMS copy of the notebook, the PC copy is not
referenced at all. It's as if it doesn't exist. So you'd be starting
out with the out-of-date VMS copy and bringing it up to date again
(as you go). I don't know if there's a way to prime it from the PC
copy, but I'm dubious.
The reason for doing this is if you still use the VMS-based client
on a regular basis.

No, not the answer I thought I'd get, but I know more now than I
did this morning.
Thanks.
