1083.0. "JOB: Skilled Software Engineer" by ROCK::DONCHIN (Between IRAQ and a hard place) Tue Feb 04 1997 13:16

Job description:

Software Engineer to participate as a member of a VLSI CAD development team
responsible for tools designed to extract and verify parameters from
integrated circuit layout. Responsibilities include heavy interaction with
design engineers, coding of prototypes and production-quality verification
tools, algorithmic design, and consultation with other team members.

This opportunity is for someone who enjoys technical challenges, working
with bright people, and who seeks the satisfaction of quality and timely
delivery of key products to Digital's success in VLSI.

The initial challenge is to design and implement original code in addition to
enhance some existing code to extract parasitic electrical effects such as
capacitance, resistance, and electromigration from custom-designed
microprocessor layouts. These functions are an essential part of the VLSI
verification suite. The candidate must be able to handle the complexities
of a major project and the responsibilities inherent in a critical function.

We prefer someone with experience in several of the following areas:

	o	IC design experience
	o	Electrical engineering background
o	CAD software experience, preferably in IC-level check tools
	o	CAD algorithm design
o	CAD software requirements analysis and spec writing
	o	Fluency in C
	o	Self-motivated
	o	Applications programming expertise
	o	People and user oriented
	o	Goal oriented
	o	Team player

However, we would be happy to train someone who is eager to learn, not afraid
of new and complex problems, and a solid software engineer.
