Hallo, I am interested how strings from LinkWorks are sended to browser. In this 'visage' it does not work for local version. I also have a feeling, that in different frames there are different mechanisms (it behaves like) Thanks Roland

2249.1 | Is it possible to skip character conversion? | BRADEC::bpc054.mil.brc.dec.com::takacs | Tue May 27 1997 16:50 | 13
I found, that 8-bits characters are converted to HTML standards based on ISO-Latin-1. I also found, that character table is directly in wwwlnx. My suggestion: Do not make any conversion, because supported is only Netscape Browser and it can show characters directly (it does not need to be any grave or acute). It can also speed up work. In future when it will support MSIE too, it will also cause no problem. So pls try to rewrite wwwlnx. If I am wrong, let me know. Roland

Hi Roland, You can add the following variable to wwwlnx.cfg conversion=<your language> As long as substitute <your language> with something else then LATIN, conversion will not take place. By default LATIN is assumed and conversion takes place. Jos
