2244.1 | Registry error ? | elec1.uto.dec.com::wijermars_v | | Fri May 23 1997 16:06 | 8 |
| Hi,
This is mostly a problem in the registry.
Unfortunally winword97 does not come with a .reg program to setup the registry.
You would have to check the registry manually

2244.2 | Window classes changed for office97 | elec1.uto.dec.com::wijermars_v | | Fri May 23 1997 17:35 | 15 |
| Hi,
Having talked about it with a colleque, we came to the conclusion that the problem is that your
version of the LNX client does not know the Windows classes used by WinWord97.
The latest 308 kit has these entries in.
You could also add the classes manual in the registry.
See note 249 for details on how to do this
The class definitions are as follows:
The first string is CLASS0, the second CLASS1 etc
"WINWORD" , "OpusApp" ,"_WwB" , "_WwB" //word97
"POWERPNT", "PP97FrameClass", "MDIClient", "mdiClass" //PowerPoint97

| Hi,
I have the same problem.
I read note #249 and this topic.
So I tried it but two WinWord97 sessions aren't opened.
I added the following lines to C:\Windows\environ.ini
[Environment]
WINWORDCLASS0=OpusApp
WINWORDCLASS1=_WwB
WINWORDCLASS2=_WwB
Is it not correct?

Masako

2244.4 | Still 2 Word sessions | BER::dhcp-185-6-159.beo.dec.com::hbfms::STRAUCHP | Petra Strauch @BEO | Tue May 27 1997 12:04 | 10 |
| Hi,
my customer changed the registry as you described and most of
his problems are solved.
But still 2 Word sessions are opened when editing 2 LNX document
objects.
I'll copy him the latest 3.0.8 client kit. But what does the client
installation write into the registry what he missed in doing manually?

| Take care here. In both the 322 and the latest 308 clients there is a bug
introduced which prevents checking the CLASS entries in the registry.
This regression took place when support for Office'97 was build in.
The bug will be solved by the end of this week and new clients will be
available early next week.
Regards,
Jos
