Unix V3.2D1 LinkWorks V3.07 Oracle Class methods seam to be disappearing. If he goes into workbench and tries to view any method then no problems and the view window comes up. If he tries to edit the method it says that another user has already deleted the method. If he then tries to view it again it comes up with the same error message but it allows him to view it anyway. At the bottom of the workbench window it gives the error: "It was not possible to lock the method" They have an Oracle database and plenty of tablespace. I cannot find anything theyu have changed for this to happen, but he did say that it has been a while since he last had a need to edit the methods. Any ideas? Cheers, Richard Simpson.

The problem described can be caused by overwriting the default 'note' master document by a userdefined document that holds some control characters in the first lines. In LNX307 the masterdocument defined for note will also be used for editing methods. If this is the case then you should reset the master document to default. Han

Hi, The customer rang in to say that he has found the default 'note' master document and it is now enabling him to edit previously non edited methods correctly however those methods that were edited before this change are still having problems with the following errors being displayed: "Method source: Object not found" editing "Another user has already deleted this method" reading He has tried deleting the edited method and the recreating them, but still the same problems... Any ideas? Regards, Richard.

Richard, Deleting the method might not actually destroy the code file in the pool, maybe they can look in the pool directory and search for the peticular file (which holds the method code) and destroy thecontents of that file! I know it is quite a hassle but this has been fixed in later versions! Han |
