Hi,
We have a problem at the customer.
First the problem was happen after they changed the network card and all
LinkWorks services disappeared. After inserted the op* services and
reboot the system the LinkWorks processes still won't run.
There are 3 error coming from 'Event Viewer':
> Unable to refresh cache
> Initialization aborted: error = 2
> Service LinkWorks: can not start service (START)
System Error Code: 1062
Current State : 1
Win32 Exit Code : 2
Service Exit Code: 0
Check Point Number: 0 (1)
Wait Hint : 0
They are running LinkWorks V3.08 on the WindowsNT V4.0 and SQLServer V6.5
I read from previous notes 1458 and found out that the customer added
the DNS into the server. But I don't know how to solve this problem to make
LinkWorks run again.
Please give me an input. Thanks in advance.

Can you please check following,
Can you Ping the host 'ASTRIX'
Can you check the entries in the winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file
is there any thing mentioned for astrix?

| I get the impression that the servername has been changed from asterix to asterix.xx.yy by adding
the DNS service.
In that case the LinkWorks admin on the systems does not match the actual system names anymore.
If this is the case, have a look in chapter 3, Changing the host name

Hi,
Thank you for all the information. I checked all the host file and
tried to edit run chhost but still didn't work.
We found that the customer have done some wrong things at DNS so the
LinkWorks server doesn't recognize it's own name (asterix or
asterix.federal.co.id). After remove the DNS setup at asterix,
LinkWorks run again.
