| oh by the way, there's a new team in town...
They just got around to naming the new AHL team in
Lowell last week, the "Lowell Lock Monsters".
They are supposed to play starting next season in
the being-built Paul Tsongas arena.
(Tsongas and Bobby Orr helped organize the thing.)
"Lock" refers to the locks that were in the Lowell
Canals to control the water back when Lowell was
a mill town. The logo of a Lock Monster is a dragon-like
thing with a hockey stick. Right now they are trying
to get associated with an NHL club the way the Ice Cats
and other teams are.
Well, more hockey = a good thing.
