| ...Go RANGERS!!!!! YAAAAAAA!!!
I know what da Pelkster meant in the last note...this just doesn't
seem like playoff-time, since da B's are out....now I know how it feels
to be a Whalers fan.......
;^) Jer.......
anyway, great comment by Jack Parker in The GLobe yesterday, regarding
the rumors about him taking over the team next year...Parker said
"the Bruins don't have a coaching problem..."
...meaning there's just no talent on this team right now, save for
Cap'n Raymond....don't look for Parker to take the job, he's REAL
happy with BU, the school treats him real well, etc....unlike the bomb
that O'Brian dropped on the BC basketball program, leaving for greener
pastures at Ohio State....best of luck there, Jim...a class act if
there ever was....
hell, gotta talk about something, ANYTHING, rather than this year's
debaucle.....

| interesting catch last night on TV, saw Lyndon Byers
on some talk show, and there was a lengthy discusion
between a few callers, the host an LB about Coaching,
and management...
LB's claims are that Harry hates the way things have
gone this year, LB says nobody is a bigger B's fan
the Sinden, and he (harry) thought he had more talent
on the team than what surfaced (well,, duuuhh,,,)
Heinze going down hurt the tream, Moger, Mallette
being injured a few times hurt the team, (LB claims
that Mallette has a lot to offer a team, and just didn't
get the chance this year..)
he repeated several times, that money isn't as big an
issue as available talent..
As far as the coaching staff goes, it appears that
all the indications are that mgmt is happy with the
effort of Cap Raider and Steve Kasper, and the
players like working for these guys. The problem
again, is depth.. there isn't any,,
LB claims that HArry has another 2/3 years running
the ship, then he turns the scotch bottle and shot
glass, errrr, I mean the steering wheel, over to Mike
Oconell..
speaking of LB, he's obviously gotten a taste for donuts,
he's gotta be 50lbs heavier than when he retired..
And,, you heard it here first,, Bruins next coach will
be "Ray Bourque"... (A pelksta prediction..)
I think Harry and Oconell will run Kasper into the
ground, and by then Ray-b-baby will have retired, and
will be ready for the next step... pipe-dream or a
glimpse into the future ??? only time will tell...
lata gatas...

| Bruins next coach will be Wayne Cashman. The announcement will be made
before the draft.
Sinden must in the drink more than I thought for him to think that the
Bruins had the talent to even make the playoffs.
Bernie.
P.S. A loss to the Rangers tonight makes the "case of New England
beer" official. Only Toby needs to understand the previous line ;-)

our beloved B's lost another one, 5-4.....B's were up 5-2, thanks
to some realllll shaky goaltending by Carey (saw the news this a.m.)...
Anyone recap for us?
...sointenly glad I n-joyed a payday for a change, rather than sit thru
another sh*t performance.....saw "Lost Highway" last night, anyone
else see this one? Directed by David Lynch...verrrry strange stuff...
HIGH-ly recommended, if you can find a theatre showing it....

So where did you go to see this Mac? NYC?
Tuned in the game on and off. Thought it was a runaway at 4-1
Rangers after one. B's made a game of it though. Now I can really
appreciate what Ranford did for us. Even when not at his best he has
been better than Carey. I hope Jim can turn it around for next season. If
he's still here. 8-)

| ...hey George!
Nope, actually saw it in Maynard, @ the Fine Arts Cinema...last night
was the last night of the showing....they just won't give this one
a decent chance, man they only showed it for 1 week in Worcester, never
in Leominster (DUH!) or Fitchburg...guess it's just "too cerebral"
(as Siskel-the-pinhead said) for most folks.....but if you can find
a theatre showing it, go along for the ride...whatta trip of a movie!!

Proud to say I haven't watched a hockey game since February with the
exception of the NCAA playoffs and guess what? No withdrawl pains! I'm
seriously thinking of just forgetting about NHL hockey........
Of course NHL hockey is something we never got in New England this year.
Well the clubs are dusted off and my motorcycle battery is
charged.......priorities gentlemen....
Signing off for the year (maybe forever),

Up 5-2 and lost 5-4 ? ;-)
Not to nitpick, but the B's were down 5-1 and came back to make
it 5-4. Carey doesn't have a helluva lot of help, but he does
seem to have a good head on his shoulders to be able to handle
this "low" period in B's history.
Carter looked really good out there! Scored a pretty one and
missed a shorthander. If he keeps improving he's gonna be a
good one!

142.14 | This years season will now be 4 games shorter for the B's | DIVER1::MACHADO | Crazy on a ship of fools | Fri Apr 04 1997 12:05 | 18 |
| I haven't seen (or even HEARD of) Lost Highway but I certainly like
most of Lynch's previous stuff. Twin Peaks was the best. I think he
wrote and directed most of this years NHL season didn't he? Especially
the Bruins portion of it. ;-)
I was in the car and tuned in for a while, got bored and went back
to music instead. When I got home I tuned in to the game on the tube
for a while, got bored and played with the computer for a while.
Congratulations to Harry Sinden and the Boston Bruins. With last
night's loss, they assured that they will not make the playoffs this
year. They are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs now. The
only thing now is assuring that they end up last so that Harry can use
the first pick to either pick a defenseman that will never pan out, or
a 5'9" 185 lb. winger that has "a lot of heart".

Did David Lynch do "Wild at Heart"?
or "Slapshot"? ;-)
"Thirty years of playoffs down the drain", said in my best
imitaion John "Bluto" Blutarsky voice. Anson Carter has played
consistently well, though.
Interesting stat last night: Oates and Tocchet have combined for
21 points so far in Washington where Carter & Allison have combined
for 18 in Boston...considering the age difference this part of the deal
looks OK. Now they just need some people in front of Carey and pray
he does not lose confidence. If Carey pans out in the long run and
can survive another stormy year, I like "the trade" from the B's
point of view...
April 13th will be Super Marios last game in Beantown as well as the
end of this long "season"....it cannot come fast enough.

Instead they were in Ottowa (?) checking out Thornton.

| RE: Neff... bourque-coach..
<< Why???? How many successful players became successful
<< coaches???
Why you ask ?? did I say he was gonna be a GOOD coach, No I
didn't, I just think he will be one of the next coaches,,,
just a hunch... do I *think* he'll be a good coach,,,,
not sure, time would have to tell that tale.. (Didn't think
Millbury would be a good coach either but he was,,,)
Anyways back to the game,,,,,
Rangers played dumb after going up 4 to 1, and the B's
took it to them... I thought the team showed some character
in this one, and well, lets face, they're just about all
playing for jobs, save a few...
Wilson gets two last night, and came close to scoring
a third...
Carey was soft, real soft, on a few of those goals, but
B's defense is always out of position...

Maybe that's part of the problem with Bruin's management.....Thornton's
been no where near Ottawa for the past few weeks....he's on the other
