this ought to be a joke...

Not even sure how much I'll watch it,, just been too painful.

Should be laugher Ray but knowing this team and its (our) quest for
the cellar and Thornton, they'll win. Which will be VERY painful.

I saw last night on espn2 that Steve Staios was claimed of of waivers
    by someone......

I believe I read in the paper that Vancouver got Staios. It said
the Bruins were a bit baffled by the move, as Staios has the second
worst +/- (-26) in the league!

...ya, CF, they do SUK indeed...but didya hear what Scotty Bowman
had to say about the Broons? He said "they have an established team,
they have 2 good draft picks coming up, they have a new builiding
that they are under significant pressure to fill with fans, and they
    have lotsa money to spend....."

..that's the killer....as if Pinhead & Co. will spend it properly....

but I've always trusted what Bowman had to say, more or less, through
    the years.....hopefully he's right again....

they just looked out manned,,, like the Wings had an
extra guy on the ice all night...

Bruins can't find each other at all on offense, there
is none... Kasper can't really be faulted for this.
Sinden and Crew, never got the sticks out when Neeley
retired, and started beating the bushes for some offense.
There is no one on that bench that can finish, period.
Now with oates gone, the only one with hands at all
is Bourque,, and he's out...

and it's kind a funny watch Stumple get knocked on
his arse everytime he's on the puck...

been a long painful season... hopefully next year
will be better,,

time to cancel nesn...

I know! the passing is freakin' AWFUL! Some high school
teams pass the puck better than they do.....it seems like
90% of their passes are either way out in front or in the
recipients skates. they always give the opposing defense
time to get back into position.

You're right about another thing, they aren't even in the same
league as the Red Wings....heck, I'm not even sure it's they're
    	in the same sport.

Interesting note on the red wings, you guys see all
the players over 30,, cripes half the team is pushin
35/36,,, You'd think with all them old guys on the ice,
the B's would have looked like a team of speed skaters...

Boston needs some talent,, wake up Harry,,,

Good point pelk... I'm so tired of hearing about age vs youth.

I think age has little to do with winning. I'd take a team of
Yzerman, Messier, Gilmour, Fuhr, Bourque, Chelios, Gartner, Carpenter,
    Sakic, Modano, etc...

Being 30something doesn't mean you are too old to play this game.
With all the fitness work these guys do there is no question that
talent today is more important than youth. GM's like Sindumb use
youth as a good excuse to pay players less. A team withe the above
mentioned players will win you a cup long before a team of young
    rookies will?

HUH? Well I don't know what planet you've landed on but I have a
business degree and I know hockey about as well as any other resident
expert in this file. I sound like a broken record because what I say
is true. You can either want the highest profit possible or you can
want *A* profit and win a cup OR you can be an idiot and lose money.

You can build a young team or you can buy a winning team. Having a team
of Anson Carters isn't going to win you a championship. Teams like
St Louis and NYR pay high $$ but they don't regularly lose money, there
are many ways to control costs and capture revenue.

Hey, we DON'T EVEN HAVE THAT!! A team of Carters would probably
at least get you to 4th place in the division!

And how's this? They're going to pick a 7th Player next month!
This is the first year I can remember that I can't think
of a nominee! Heinze was playing over his head I guess.

Ya know Barry, I was thinking the same thing the other day when I
watched the game and they mentioned the 7th player award. I couldn't
think of anybody that I could vote for even if I wanted to. The award
goes to "the Bruin that you think played at a level above which you
would normally expect". In my opinion the whole bloody team has
underachieved this season. I can't think of one player that stepped up
and was a pleasant surprise. Heinze was at the beginning of the season
but he hasn't played enough to qualify for the award as far as I'm
concerned. Maybe we oughta vote for the trainer or the equipment
manager. How about one of the Fleece Center beer vendors? God knows the
beer vendors probably helped many a Bruins fan survive this season...

The only problem is that Chuckie Laquidara is the biggest dolt to
ever walk God's green earth. He flip-flops on issues just like a
Massachusetts politician and to put it bluntly, he talks way the F***
too much. If he wants to do a talk radio show he should get a job at
an AM station. I tune into FM stations because I want music, not
because I want some idiot's personal opinion on all the "sensitive
issues" plaguing our society today. He should just spin CDs and
keep all his inane drivel to himself.

Well you killed your own argument when you included St Louis in that
    sentence. They haven't won a thing...ever...and I don't know that
    they're that profitable.

If you're measuring success on profitability, then Boston is the most
    successful team in the league.

he espoused 20 years ago he's telling everyone are soooo wrong now. Face

Ron - as much as I now love you, I'm perplexed with these claims. Anyone
can get a business degree, it's how you use it that gives it merit. As far
as being "one of the resident experts", Ron you really know deep down
inside the truth about that. Weren't you the one that claimed Joey Juneau
is a SuperStar???? That, my friend, shows your knowledge.

OK stevie... I did claim JJ to be a potential Superstar and I still
say the B's got screwed on that deal (as should you even if it would be

Odgers. If Juneau were still with the B's he'd be the Superstar of the
lineup. Care to differ? I have no idea why they use him on a line with
Simon and Hunter in Wash ? makes no sense to me.

As for anyone getting a degree... You brought that up. I merely said
I know enough about business to know that in the sports business you
have to be a fan as well if you really want to win the cup. If you
aren't all you are going to care about is the bottom line and Harry
is a good example of this.

Ron - I believe I agreed with you in a previous note the the B's ended
up getting the short end of the deal. But that is in hindsight, and not
to beat an old dog any further...... I still feel the original deal was
what the Bruins needed at the time of the trade. Unfortunately, it never
   worked out.

I don't agree.... Ron, give it a rest - Juneau isn't that good. He had
one good season, one ! Look at his stats, then look at his heart. Neither
is good enough to write home about.
