| Oh-oh! Another dilemna. I want the Bruins to win 'cause that would
help Ottawa but if the Whalers win then I'm that much closer to a case
of beer.
I can buy my own beer!
Go Bruins Go.

without a script, sort of ad lib ya know...
I'm on pure EVI (entertaiment Value Index) regarding Hockey
this year.... maybe the B's will even shock us and beat
the whalers tonight... that would be a good thing...

| I hear you about work Mac. To bad you can't make it. Leominster
has posted 3 consecutive shutouts in post season. 6-0,6-0,4-0. I
expect the shutouts to end tonight but you never know. I just
hope for a win. I'll post a recap in the Misc. topic. I would never
post anything about Leominster hockey in base note with "Whalers" in
it. Arggghh. 8-)

After sitting through this game, I've come to the conclusion that the
B's should trade Joseph Stumpel for a puck bag. If we can not get the
puck bag straight-up, we should throw Andy Moger into the deal.

| -1. Yeah, what's up with Stumpel!!! Does the guy weigh under 50 lbs.,
each play he was in, he either ended up on his a**, or passed the puck
into the D's skates! ....nice call on that penalty shot ;)

| ...ya, I hear ya, Neff...man, the Whalers were running him all night,
elbows, hits, etc.....is it me or are the Whale that much bigger
than the Bruins? Granted, they're a team w/out a leader right now,
but the B's looked like college kids next to them....
and what is it with the smiley-faced Bruins joiseys??
That bear looks real stoned...kinda like a Grateful Dead dancin'

hmmmmmmmm...maybe that's what's been going on in the locker room
B-tween periods.....
another game closer to a good draft choice....(hopefully)....

| I'm still laughin at that penalty shot... The Whalers should
send Stewart a gift certificate to Lechemere's, maybe
he can get a big screen t.v. out of it! What a putz...
ahh well, back to the game,, The Whalers seemed to be all over
the b's all night long, not giving the Bruins much time
to set anything up, and put out good coverage all night long.
made it an easy win for Burke..
I like that idea about a puck bag for stumple, but I wouldn't
throw in Moger, but I would consider Rholoff..

In todays Globe there's an article by KevinPaul Dupont based on
a one hour phone inter view w/ J Jacobs about the Bruins. In it,
Jacobs praises Sinden and OConnell and the job they are doing. Also
he says that Harry is free to spend whatever money he has to to
make the team a winner (yeah, right). H e also says prices will not
be going up next year and a lot of other misc. BS about how
dis-appointed he is, the "divisive" influence of Adam Oates in the
clubhouse and the deep draft. He also points out that teams with
huge payrolls (St Loius & the Rangers) are not doing so hot, either
and low payroll teams like Buffalo & Edmonton "kicked our ass this
year".....Hey Jeremy, when you're the worst team in the league,
EVERBODY kicks your ass!!!
CF
PS - Hey mac, he also drops in a line about the six giant piles
of mail he got last week from B's fans complaining about the team!!
So I guess he read your letter!

Toby - he shows me NOTHING..... I haven't seen any improvement since
he's been here. I'm not impressed with him at all. He is taken off the
puck soooo easily and he doesn't appear to be into the game. I would
ship him out of here in a second.
I don't think he's the most talented either, Carter shows more talent
IMO.

Neff,
check the stats they don't lie. He's by far the
most Offensive player on the roster. He's a playmaker and this
year seems to shoot more (1 of his problems) he's never going
to be a physical player but you need some snipers. It's almost
like when Dmitri Kvarltanov couldn't play defense. and the
B's shipped him off to never-never land. He (Stumple) will probably
end up on the oilers as a 30 goal/80pt scorer while we get nuthin'
in return. If Stumple isn't the best then who is? I like Carter
but it remains to be seen if he can sustain his level of play over
a full season.

Toby - one of the three biggest lies is statistics.... If you look at the
stats, Ted Donato is your sniper. He has 25 goals in only 65 gms, that's
0.38 goals a game. Compare this to Stumple, 16 goals in 66 gms (0.24 gls/gm).
Even Steve 'The Sniper' Heinze has a better goals/game than Stumple.
Don't get into assists, I'm sure you know my opinion on them. Stumple is
also 2nd on the team with a of -16. Isn't it amazing what you can do with
stat's !
>but you need some snipers.
Oh, I totally agree with this comment, but Stumple is NOT a sniper. He
has flashes once in a while, but that's it. If you want to make the comment
that Stumple leads this team in the catagory of statistics, I'll concur.

| Stumpel probably is there best offensive player at the moment. I agree
with Neff that he does get pushed around too easily though. In
addition, he can't win a faceoff to save his life and sometimes gets
completely lost in the defensive end.
He could be a solid player if he worked on his game and added some
grit.

Neff,
I concur then... I guess. Donato is a pretty good offensive player
also but I'd be willing to bet (not with Bernie 8-)) that alot of
his pts came on the PP whereas Stumples *MIGHT* not have. I think
he's a decent playmaker regardless of assists being awarded like
gold stars to kindergartners. He's starting to Shoot more and
consequently his goal production is up. Of all the players I think
he has the best "potential". take that for what it's worth.
I like what I've seen from Carter but B's management will find a way
of screwing him up!

It's good that you said *MIGHT*, Donato has 6 ppgs and Stumpy has 4 ppgs.
Not much of a difference. Stumpy has 1 gwg and Donato has 2 and finally,
Stumple has 0 shg and Donato has 2. If you look purely at the stats you
would have to give it to Donato. I'm not saying he is the better of the
two - but I would keep Donato over Stumple, JMO.

Toby - whadda think about Tim Sweeney? I like his effort, and he always
seems to surprise me out there. And another player that impresses me is
Brett Harkins, I'd like to see both of these guys getting more ice time.

Tim Sweeney was placed on (and just cleared) waivers so the B's can
demote him to Providence... mystifies me too - he seems to get on
the scoreboard when he plays.

I dunno about Sweeney I'd say his only drawback would be
lack of consistentcy. of course if you're only getting a couple
of shifts a game it's hard to be consistent. Sweeney looks like
he'll turn into another Todd Elik but that would be mgmnt's fault.
<insert big suprise face here> 8-)
