Well, this could easily be considered the beginning of the end,
if anyone still actually cares. Seven game road trip over the
next 14 days should all but eliminate the B's from the playoff
hunt......although, who knows, they play "better" on the road than
    at home, it seems.

    	Calgary (21-28-6)
    	Edmonton (27-23-5)
    	Phoenix (24-27-4)
    	Colorado (32-14-8)
    	Chicago (21-27-8)
    	Buffalo (29-19-8)
    	Washington (21-27-6)

Most aren't doing that well overall, but neither are our
beloved B's......3 wins would be wishful thinking?

    ...WOW!

what a friggin' game (from the Flames point of view)....B's take the
    pipe big-time, 5-1.....B's didn't score until it was 5-0....

....ya know, in the "old days", when the B's were less-mediocre
that currently, something would happen when the team suked like this,
either a trade-that-usually-meant-nothing, BUT at least it would shake
up the fans a little.....whhhhhaaaaattt is Harry thinking?

No, seriously....this is outta character even for a stiff like Harry...

and I stayed up for this??? How many dudes stayin' up fer tonight's
9:30 start? Hmmmmmmmm??? I must be friggin' nuts (at least that's
    what the wifey sez....)

Don't feel too bad, mac, I was excited for the game after
watching the Beanpot final.....and 22 short seconds into
    the game......***BAM****

    			......back to reality!

What a lousy, uninspired effort. Doesn't llok too good tonight
in Edmonton....hopefully ESPN2 will have the world darts championship!

....and this REALLY got me ripped...here's Tocchet, who couldn't
bury a dead dog, saying this about Tallas's performance last night:

"Robbie has a bad night...he let in three soft goals..."

say what ya want there, Rickkie-Boy, but 'twas YOU would couldn't find
the net last night, even if ya had a MAP, fer cryin' out loud.....
Tocchet made several bone-head plays last night, and has been a stiff
for weeks now....Donato had a real nice break-away (when it was 1-0)
and shot it over the net......

..and Tocchet's complaining about the goaltending??? PLEEEEEAASSSE!!!
Tallas would've had to post a shutout just to get the tie, JEEEZZ!!!!!!

rumor has it that Cheevers *may* be taking over the helm....
course, this was courtesy of Tank, a.k.a. Mister Reliable....
isn't Cheesy working for the B's as a scout right now?
It was strange to see him doing color last night, and he IS
just starting to get his life, finances, etc back in order
after some bad breaks (near-bankruptcy, drinking prob's, etc.)

ahh well....Sox are almost in traning camp.....

I turned it on at the beginning of the second period. I turned it
off at the end of the second and went to bed. I just couldn't be
bothered losing sleep when it was clear that the B's decided to turn in
early. At this point I'm sincerely hoping that they don't make the
playoffs. Did I hear correctly yesterday that the Red Sox equipment van
left for Florida? I certainly hope so. This hockey season can't end too
    soon for me.

121.6Can U say POWER FORWARD...NETCAD::COLELLAWed Feb 12 1997 10:3814
Saw most of the first period, and honestly, the B's did not play
that badly, they just couldn't find the damn twine. I thought they
had Kidd down and out a few times and couldn't put it home.

Oh, what a suprise - Tallas is no Ranford! I think Tallas has
a great future, but they need Ranford back now if they think
they're going win on this road trip. (Guess I'm stating the
    obvious here.)

Oh well, the special on Cam tonight at 8:30 should be good,
we can wallow in the good-ole-days....

I read in the Globe that Ranford *COULD* play on this
road trip at some point - nothing specific, though....although
Ranford himself said that he did not want to set any time-tables.

I actually thought about watching the whole thing, when
I dozed at 4-0 and woke up and heard 5-0, I just
figured I'd cash the chips in, and go to sleep.

Tallas was soft on two of those three goals, he should
have picked up the second one, it wasn't a scorcher that
got deflected, and the third goal was pretty much a sin to
let in, the first goal really can't fault the goalie,
B's "D" gives away the blue line all the time, it was
a tuff angle to pickup..

as far as Tochette's comments go, I've never seen a
player dump on their goaltender, I'd tend to doubt
Ricky boy meant no disgrace to Tallas, I just don't
see that coming out of Tochette..

Ya know, B's don't really have as big a goaltending problem
as the have a 'hit the f*#$%*G net' problem. What's the
problem with this ? these guys are supposed to be pros,
this is what they do for work, fer cripes sakes, hit the
damn net when yer 35 feet out will ya !!! Jaysus!

And I gotta tell ya, to see Kaspers PUSS night after night,
has GOT to be wearing on you guyus as much as me ! He
always looks like he's dumping on his bench, never encouraging
them, but yet whining constantly.. Maybe I'm missreading
it, but I see most of the other coaches a little more supportive
of their crew, even when they suck. I just don't like this
guy...
