I have tried to install my Iomega Zip software on my Hi Note
Ultra. When the software starts looking for the drive it can't
find it and then Windows hangs. Also I only have the modem card
plugged in. Has anyone had this problem.
Thanks,
Jim

| 2416.1 | Are you running a scanner software on the // port? | HERON::BEAU | Will be fixed in next release ! | Fri May 30 1997 04:23 | 11 |
Jim, I had a similar problem. It was related to the fact that I had a parallel port scanner (Logitech) software installed. Removing the scanner software (that seems to allocate the parallel port before the ZIP drive can do it) fixed it. Now the ZIP drive works fine except when I'm connected to the docking station with NIC (see my entry in this Notesfile!). Louis | |||||

For the VP510-575 and the HiNote Ultra II (and maybe other models as
well -- we haven't tested the full gamut), the parallel interface
version of the Zip drive will not function properly when connected to
the port replicator with NIC.
There is confusion when both the Zip and the network share the same
hardware. There is no fix.
But the Zip should always work when connected to the parallel port on
the system itself or to the port replicator without NIC.
