2414.0. "HiNote Ultra II, Port Replicator with NIC & IOMEGA ZIP: No Go" by HERON::BEAU (Will be fixed in next release !) Mon May 26 1997 07:58
Hi
I'm trying to setup my HiNote Ultra II with a IOMEGA ZIP Drive.
When the HiNote is disconnected from the Port Replicator with NIC, everything
works fine.
When connected to the Port Replicator with NIC, the IOMEGA ZIP becomes
unusable: slow, can't display/acess files, crashes the PC, hangs the PC,...
I'm running W95 and there is no conflict identified (IRQ, address, ...)
Help more than welcome.
Louis

| The NIC in the PR w/ NIC is a parallel port NIC. I suspect that
there is just too much traffic for the system to sort out. I have
found that even LapLink or Windows Direct Connection over the LPT
port will not work with the PR/NIC.
One suggestion would be to not connect the NIC and set the LPT
port up as PS/2 Bidirectional instead of ECP. I haven't tried
this myself. G'luck.
