| Doesnt note 2346 talk about the HINOTE, not the Ultra?

| Check notes 1857.* and 2283.*. They are "Ultra" specific...as opposed
to ultra specific... :-)

For what it is worth, for the past month I have been installing
1.4GB drives in both HiNotes and Ultras. I have experienced no
problems, but I would suggest you use the latest BIOS (V1.42) to be
sure. By the way the internal P/N is 30-46539-01 (1.4GB 2.5" X .5").
It is an IBM drive.

2405.5 | Toshiba makes one: 2.16gigabytes | NQOS01::kxodial_port1.kxo.dec.com::LOVE | Are we having fun yet? | Thu May 22 1997 22:31 | 9 |
| There is a 2.16g "Toshiba" harddrive that will fit into the CT475 HiNote.
Just today six weeks of frustration, I got WINDOWS 95 up, which can be a
problem with no CD reader or CD distribution disk. When I got the
distribution disk I used the old DOS interlnk and intersvr software to link a
desktop with a CD to my laptop via the parallel ports. Copied the whole CD to
the harddrive. Frank Garabo gave me the information on this drive. Check
this conference for author Garabo or exchange mail him.

2405.6 | but are they reliable? | ODIXIE::SIMPSONT | PC = world's biggest con job! | Tue May 27 1997 16:29 | 11 |
| fwiw - My new Toshiba 2.16gb hard drive worked fine for about a week...
I started getting hard errors in the FAT area of disk and party was
over. Called the dealer, UCD, and they issued an RMA, no questions.
Got my new drive and I can't wait to go thru that whole rebuild
procedure again... :-(
I sure hope this was a fluke and not a general indication of their
product quality.
