Got a problem on a Hinote Ultra CT475. When not connected to AC power the system acts as if the battery is dischaged, i.e. dead. When connected to AC power, the battery status indicator cycles between indicating fully charged, fully discharged, and absent, at about 2 second intervals. The amber charging indicator shows whilst the battery status indicates discharged. What's wrong with it?

I'd start by swapping the battery for a known-good battery, and seeing what changes this made to the indicators... | |||||

When you want to switch it off, be sure to remove the a/c power, let it settle down under battery power, then press the off button. If switch off when power is applied, then later remove the a/c, the machine stays on (bios 1.41). I am sure this is related to your problem. -Ken |
