Hi: I have a customer "The New York State Police" who is in the process of putting our Ultra Hinote II's with active matrix screens into all of there patrol cars. the problem that they are having is that so far they have had five of the screens go blank and had to send them to laptop repair and the problem that was stated was that a fuse that goes to the screen blows out. This has caused some concern for the customer as to the reliability of the laptops! Is this something that others have seen? The customer has put a four hundred thousand order for the laptops on hold because of this. any help or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Paul Peplowski ALO DTN:344-7228

I would think you should be talking to PCBU Portables Engineering Support on this - Richard Glantz would be a good contact. Regards, David.

Yes, this has been a problem. We know the solution, and we've got an effort underway to take care of our customers. I will ask someone in our group to produce a "white paper" that should help you and other salespeople in the field.
