2288.0. "VP 535 and PCXBV-KA - How to get monitor to work?" by STOWOA::S_HUTCHINSON (Sam Hutchinson DTN 276-9048) Mon Jan 27 1997 13:12

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just received an VP 535 notebook, and I intend to use it as my
desktop. I had a Celebris 590, with a PCXBV-KA 17 inch monitor. This monitor
has some of the Energy Star capabilities.
However, when we hooked the monitor up to either the docking
station or direct to the notebook, we could not get it out of the standby
state (steady amber on the monitor indicatior). This happened even though
we did configure the display for the monitor when going off the notebook.
We were able to use a standard 14 inch monitor that had no power
savings features.
Is there any way I can get this monitor to work with the notebook ?
If not, what is the recommended 17 inch monitor as an alternative ?

| Have you tried the latest BIOS 1.05? I've found that BIOS version
prior to 1.04 cannot display to ext monitor on some noteooks.
