507.0. "Latest version of OSAKSHR.exe ?" by TORETE::BRUNA () Tue Mar 18 1997 10:20

    Hello,

I'm using an OSAKSHR.EXE image dated 16-jan-1996 version Z1.1-000 and
now I noticed that the OSAK-O kit contains a newer image dated
    17-apr-1996 version V3.0-32B.

Are the fix made for Z1.1-000 included in the new kit or should I still
    use the old version?

    Thanks
    Giovanni

The fix for this particular problem should have been included in later builds.
It would appear that the Z1.1-000 version was given to CED BORSA to resolve a
problem with OSAK doing a version check on a REFUSE SPDU.

I would urge caution though. If the version you are running is currently
working, there doesn't seem to be much point in upgrading, since OSAK 1.1 isn't
supported anymore. In other words, if you do upgrade and run into problems, we
won't fix them; if you are currently having problems, we still won't fix them
(though we might suggest upgrading to see if the latest version resolves the
problem :-)

    Scott,

thanks for your answer; the reason I asked this question is because CED
    Borsa finally decided to install Decnet/osi 6.3 + ECO6 to solve a
problem they have with 6.2 so I was wondering if it was worth to
    install the new image.

But after your warning I'll leave the old image...

You probably cannot understand why we ran in these troubles with old
versions but I'm facing a very aggressive customer and there is no
    management on our side.....

    Cheers
