| We're really dealing with only one problem here:
o FTAM responder does ACCVIO with multiple files - it shouldn't do this. This
is supposed to work, and in fact I've tested this using the FTAM API (I
created and transfered some 1000 files in a single association). You should
escalate this problem as an IPMT so we can look into it further.
Your test with a copy of multiple input files to a single output file resulted
in expected behavior. If you specify an output file with multiple input files,
FTAM will append all files together.

| Sigh..... it looks like there are in fact two problems that are going to
require resolution here. Your test failed because we are apparently having some
sort of version number problem in the responder which is causing the second file
open to fail with a "file locked" error (presumably the COPY command has opened
the file that the responder is also trying to open).
The other problem appears to be related to COCONET asking for the ability to
recover; if I do the COPY command test and specify /JOURNAL everybody dies
(responder and initiator) with an ACCVIO. The FERPM code in FTAM has been the
bane of my existance. Of course once we fix the recovery problem, we'll need to
fix the file locked problem.
When you escalate this it would be most helpful to provide a pointer to a
complete trace with COCONET to ensure that there isn't yet another problem
lurking somewhere.

| Hi Scott,
IPMT MGO102701 is open for this problem. The customer also sent a trace
where sending multiple files in a single association is working. In this
case, recovery isn't requested by the initiator.
Many thanks for your help

| This problem has been resolved and will appear officially in the release of FTAM
that ships with DECnet-Plus 7.2.
