Hello, I need to setup connection between our UNIX system and Nokia DX200 switch using x.25 protocol in China. Since the Nokia people here is not experience in this kind of connection, can anyone share some of your experience with me ? The Nokia switch will use x.25 protocol for communication with Digital UNIX thru decnis 500 as shown in the below diag. Our side is configured as DCE mode, Nokia side is configured as DTE mode. One pair of sync modem is used to connect these two system together. My current problem is the X.25 can not up and running. I think the problem is unmatched network profile. Please advise which network profile should be used for communication with Nokia DX200 switch. If you have time please also give me some advice, such as x25startup.ncl ......osiapplication.dat. My configuration is : +------------------+ +----------+ +---------+ | | | | | | | digital UNIX | | decnis |DCE DTE| NOKIA | | decnet /osi | | 500 +--------------+ switch | | X25 software | | | | | +-------+----------+ +-----+----+ +---------+ | | ========+=======================+====== FTAM is used for transfering files between unix and nokia system. Thanks in advance + best regards, LK Lee

>My current problem is the X.25 can not up and running. My suggestion would be to start with the DECNIS conference, which appears to be located on: NOTED::DECNIS The X.25 for UNIX conference might also be of some help at: OZROCK::X25_OSF Also try the problem solving guide for the X.25 software; the X.25 documentation is very good in this area. >I think the problem is unmatched network profile. Please advise which network >profile should be used for communication with Nokia DX200 switch. Why not ask the Nokia people? Even if the local people don't know, they should be able to find out. You aren't going to get very far without having the profile. --Scott |
