172.0. "Official IFRAG Note (TCP/IP Doom)" by BAHTAT::HILTON (Beer...now there's a temporary solution) Tue Apr 18 1995 07:13

Ok, this is the official IFRAG note.

Has anyone used IFRAG, do you need a UNIX server, or can just two PC's
    work over the net?

    Cheers,

I presume from the documentation you need one machine as a server (I
never tried it, but I take it a machine cannot be a server AND a
    client, la ROTT ?).

Anyone fancy setting up a Digital iFRAG server, then? :-)

nope, you dont need a unix box, you can also run the server and client
    on the same machine....

the unix box is needed for building queues and such for lots of
    different games.

if i get some time, ill write up what i did to get it working on only
pc's, but it really wasnt too tricky.

the server then types ifrag -server

the client side.... hmmm.... i dont have a client handy but i think
everything is the same except that the client types

    ifrag -client server.ip.address

huh? are you saying you want a card, have the card or need a driver?
:') (the driver 3c5x9pd.com is on the 3com disk or probably available
    from http://www.3com.com as well)
