FLYTE got all screwy last weekend, and had DECnet reconfigured and
stuff. Now the FAL server account is stuffed. I've changed it, but the
change will not take effect until the next reboot.

Since FLYTE is primarily a test machine, and people are using it,
basically you'll have to wait :-)

Sorry for any inconvenience. There is always SEAMUS for now, if you
    have access to ftp...

Dan, if a machine is a test machine then it shouldn't matter if it goes
down, just say you need to reboot to test something, shouldn't take
much more than 10 mins or so (if that long)

Just give users a bit of a warning, do it at 5.30 when hopefully people
    are going home.

Yes, thanks Mark, I think I know how to shut down a test machine :-) !!

It's not *OUR* test machine, it's IOSG's, so I can't really shut it
    down for them :-]

    Cheers,
    Dan

    Just a couple of things...

o FLYTE should hopefully be rebooted today. I'm hoping that will
    cure the problems.

o Our WWW server supports FTP'ing off all of FLYTEs archives.

o If you don't have WWW, you can anonymous ftp from
seamus.reo.dec.com. It mirrors all of FLYTEs archives.

o There was some question a while ago as to the integrity of the
kits files. I've just checked them and they're all fine.

Please remember when dealing with .ZIP files, FTP'ing requires
you to SET IMAGE or SET BINARY before copying. Likewise, Ultrix/
OSF users - remember to use 'dcp -i' when DECnet copying.

Please alert me to any other files that you believe may be
    	  corrupt.

    Cheers,
    Dan

No, Nick's the man to talk to there ;-) !!

    Cheers,
    Dan

P.S. I've also checked the patches. They're all fine except for
D2V17P.ZIP which I'll have to re-fetch some time.
